How to create your first project
In Tree Appraisal Pro, a "Project" acts as a folder for a specific job site or client. You must create a project before you can start appraising individual trees.
Step 1: Navigate to the Dashboard
Log in to your account. You will land on the Dashboard, which gives you an overview of your recent activity. Locate the New Project button (usually in the top right corner).
Step 2: Enter Project Details
You will be taken to a simple form. Fill in the following details:
- Project Name (Required): Give this job a recognizable name, such as "Smith Estate - Insurance Claim" or "123 Maple Ave Inventory".
- Client Name (Optional): Enter your client's name (e.g., "John Smith" or "City of Springfield"). This will appear on the final PDF report cover page.
- Site Address (Optional): The physical location of the trees. This is crucial for defensible reports as it establishes the geographic context.
Step 3: Save and Add Trees
Click the Create Project button. You will be redirected to your new project's workspace.
Tip: Your project is currently empty. Look for the "+ Add Tree" button to start your first valuation using the Trunk Formula Method calculator.
Next Steps
Once you have created a project, you can:
- Add multiple trees to the same project.
- Edit project details (like address changes) at any time.
- Generate individual PDF reports for each tree.
